Job description

Experienced Teaching Assistants – Special Educational Needs All-Through School – South Harrow Working Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only A well-established and inclusive all-through SEN school in South Harrow is seeking to appoint experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students with a range of complex needs. Successful candidates will primarily support students working at a Key Stage 1 level, many of whom have diagnoses of ASD and SEMH needs. The role involves providing personalised support both within and beyond the classroom, enabling pupils to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop greater independence. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver consistent, tailored support to students with ASD and SEMH - Assist the class teacher in implementing differentiated learning activities - Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies - Help with personal care and daily routines, as needed - Contribute to pupils’ overall development, well-being, and progress Essential Requirements: - Proven experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and SEMH - Background in a primary school or early years educational setting - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working in a dynamic environment - Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people The school offers a nurturing, well-resourced environment and provides ongoing professional development for all staff.
