Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real impact in the lives of children with additional needs?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic school in Kent. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in working 1:1 and in small groups, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, SEMH, and PMLD.

Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Deliver tailored learning and emotional support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist in implementing EHCPs and behaviour plans in collaboration with teaching staff.
  • Promote independence, inclusion, and positive behaviour both in and out of the classroom.
  • Support personal care needs where necessary with dignity and respect.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils in an educational or care setting.
  • Strong understanding of Autism, SEMH, and other learning needs.
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning and well-being.
  • Willingness to support with personal care if required.
  • Havean up-to-date CV(covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service(or be willing to apply for one).
