Job summary

Wilson & Scott Highways Ltd, a family-owned road marking company based in Thatcham, is seeking an experienced Machine Steersman/Operator to join its team and work across depots nationwide. The role involves installation, removal and maintenance of thermoplastic and cold-applied road markings using Somerford Multi-Mark equipment.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of relevant experience, an NVQ Level 2 in Road Building – Pavement Marking (Machine Operations), and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Road Building – Pavement Marking (Machine Operations)
• 2+ years experience as Steersman/Operator
• Valid UK driving licence; HGV licence desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Drive, operate and maintain paint/thermoplastic equipment for marking on parking areas, highways and roadways.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment components; report unresolved problems.
• Read and follow drawings and specifications to lay out pavement markings.
• Operate hot thermoplastic equipment up to 200+ degrees for various markings.
• Assist in traffic control operations and ensure safety and compliance with policies.
