Pennard Vets, an independent and employee-owned practice, is looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our progressive and caring team. This role supports both Pennard Vets patients and South East Vet Referrals (SEVR) patients, ensuring cohesive, contextualised care for all patients as one unified team.

The Role
You will be a vital part of our hospital’s surgical and anaesthesia services. You’ll work alongside our multidisciplinary team to ensure outstanding patient care, with a focus on surgical support, anaesthetic monitoring, and patient preparation and recovery. An interest in neurology is of benefit.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver high-quality anaesthetic care for a variety of complex surgical procedures
· Operate within a referral-level environment, working across departments to support hospitalised patients
· Maintain a clean, sterile, and well-prepared theatre
· Provide peri-operative nursing care including prep, monitoring, and recovery
· Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with the wider clinical team
· Support and mentor junior team members
About You
· Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
· Ideally confident and interested in anaesthesia, with experience (or a strong interest) in using ventilators and CRIs and infusion pumps
· Adaptable to working across different departments, providing cohesive care at referral level
· Comfortable with later shift patterns and varied duties within a rota system
· Enthusiastic, organised, and a strong communicator
· Anaesthesia Certificate (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
Hours & Rota
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: In region of £32,000, negotiable dependent on experience
Rota includes:
• 1 in 6 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm)
• 1 in 12 weekends on call
• Some bank holiday day shifts or on-call responsibilities
• Working within a rota of duties including later shift patterns and out-of-hours support
