Your new team
This is an opportunity for an experienced consultant to join one of Hays' most established and high-profile specialisms. Our London Central Business Support team is located in Cheapside, and is a public sector-facing recruitment team that has enjoyed significant success. They are a major contributor to the fees of the London Central Region, with plenty of scope for further development, and have won 'Team of the Year' in recent times. We are seeking a commercial and ambitious individual to join the team and help drive it forward in both fees and securing new clients. Working with an established team that includes Senior Business Managers, this is an exciting time for someone to join a collaborative and friendly team and make an impact from day one.
Your new role
As a senior consultant, your primary focus will be to develop and nurture relationships with decision makers across all London central government organizations and agencies. You will proactively map your decision makers using LinkedIn and our in-house system, and then organise to meet with these decision makers, which will include HR professionals, CEOs, Directors, line managers, and other key stakeholders. Your role is a target-driven and sales-based role, where you are responsible for encouraging these organisations to work with you to support their recruitment. The role involves selling daily-sell against internal recruitment teams, budget restraints, and government processes. Once you secure a partnership, your role includes sourcing the best and most experienced candidates for these interim roles in a fast-paced timeframe. You will be measured on the number of interim placements every 4 weeks. You need to demonstrate inquisitiveness and commercial insight to secure leads and negotiate terms of business competitively.
What you’ll need to succeed:
You will have experience as a Senior Recruitment Consultant or above, with a proven track record in business development and recruitment. You will be highly driven, ambitious, and inspiring, capable of driving success in those around you and navigating recruitment challenges with resilience. You should be passionate about achieving team and individual goals, supportive of others’ development, and enjoy working as part of a growing team.
Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with colleagues, directors, candidates, and clients, which is vital for your success and that of the business.
What you’ll get in return
This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a successful desk and develop a thriving business. The desk has consistently billed over £220k in the last two financial years. You will be part of a collaborative sector group, learning the intricacies of civil service recruitment. You’ll be supported by a Senior Business Manager with 8 years of experience, who has previously worked on this exact desk, providing reliable mentorship. You will benefit from a strong management network across the region and have opportunities to enhance your leadership skills through training programs. As a fee-earner, you’ll have the chance to build relationships with existing clients, expand the market, and explore new growth areas, advancing your career positively and proactively.
