Quality Manager / Chief Inspector

Progressive bio-engineering company seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Manager / Chief Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. A strong understanding of ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems is essential for maintaining the integrity of our Quality Assurance Program.

The Quality Manager carries the full authority of the Chief Executive to ensure that the QMS and manufactured products meet the requirements of the relevant standards and regulatory bodies.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Manage the Quality Management System
• Oversee inspection and test status
• Perform in-process and final inspection of all products
• Control inspection stamps
• Approve quality procedures
• Authorize control document changes, inspection signatories, purchasing signatories
• Review corrective actions
• Handle customer liaison, returns, and complaints
• Implement training programs within Quality and Inspection
• Apply statistical techniques
• Manage Internal Quality Audit program (except where directly responsible)
• Handle in-house NCRs
• Notify production of customer quality requirements
• Control specifications and standards
• Monitor suppliers and maintain approved lists and records
• Record and maintain customer returns and complaints
• Conduct corrective actions on supplier reviews
• Maintain inspection and test records, calibration system records
• Conduct internal quality audits

From time to time, delegate responsibilities to other suitably qualified personnel.

Chief Inspector

• Must have experience inspecting using measuring hand tools such as Verniers, Calipers, Micrometers, and Surface Measurement Equipment.
• Experience with visual inspection equipment such as Optical Comparators, Shadowgraphs, and visual magnification tools.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with calibration and calibration management systems.
• Ability to demonstrate high accuracy and recognize the importance of product quality.
• Good organizational skills, methodical approach, and keen eye for detail.
• Experience with CMM programming and operation.
• Ability to visually inspect highly-polished parts.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar role.

Hours of work: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Holidays: 28 days (including statutory holidays), rising to 33 days in the 4th year.
