Job summary

Virgin Media is expanding its delivery team and seeks experienced Pre-Enablement Engineers to prepare and maintain the network that keeps customers connected. You will work in a hands-on field-based environment across telecoms, fibre, cabling and civils.

You will carry out pre-enablement, install and maintain equipment, pull fibre/coax cables, and record work using handheld devices. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms network build, pre-enablement, civils, fibre or utility infrastructure.
• Experience working within underground network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of network quality standards and safe working practices.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Confident using handheld devices and digital job management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months (no more than 6 points).

Responsibilities

We're expanding our Virgin Media delivery team and are looking for experienced Pre-Enablement Engineers to help prepare and maintain the network that keeps customers connected. If you have experience in telecoms, fibre, cabling, civils, or network build activities and enjoy working in a hands‑on field‑based environment, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Pre-Enablement Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring network infrastructure is ready for customer installations by carrying out essential preparation, maintenance, and network assurance activities across the Virgin Media network.

Your responsibilities will include:

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with experienced engineers who have worked within telecoms network build, pre-enablement, civils, fibre, copper, or utility infrastructure environments.

• Previous pre-enablement, telecoms, network build, civils, fibre, or utility experience
• Experience working within underground network infrastructure
• Strong understanding of network quality standards and safe working practices
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Confident using handheld devices and digital job management systems
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months (maximum 6 points)
