Experienced Practice Nurse or Nurse Associate
JOB TITLE: PRACTICE NURSE
REPORTS TO: NURSE MANAGER/THE PARTNERS (Clinically), THE PRACTICE MANAGER (Administratively)
HOURS: XX hours per week
Job Summary: To assist medical personnel in the care of Practice patients, including treatment, preventative care, screening, and patient education.
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing assessment, screening, treatment services, and health education advice.
- Organising and coordinating nursing services for the Practice, including delegation of duties to other nursing staff as appropriate.
- Providing nursing treatments in collaboration with GPs or independently following protocols.
- Conducting health screenings and referring patients to GPs as necessary.
- Advising patients on health care and minor ailments, with referrals to GPs as needed.
- Maintaining treatment room and equipment, including stock levels and cleanliness.
- Collecting, storing, and dispatching pathological specimens following training, ensuring equipment hygiene.
- Performing investigatory procedures requested by GPs.
- Participating in administrative and professional responsibilities, including accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Attending Practice meetings, contributing to practice policies, and participating in research projects.
- Participating in education and training of staff and students.
- Maintaining effective liaison with other agencies and staff, respecting confidentiality.
- Engaging in professional development through courses and study days.
- Upholding confidentiality and data protection policies.
- Promoting health and safety in accordance with Practice policies.
- Supporting equality, diversity, and patients' rights.
- Participating in personal and professional development activities.
- Maintaining quality standards and contributing to team effectiveness.
- Ensuring effective communication within the team and with patients and carers.
- Applying practice policies and participating in audits.
