Job summary

Get Recruited UK Ltd in Bury is partnering with a renowned Chartered Accountants firm to recruit an Accountant with at least four years of UK practice experience. You’ll handle year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, plus tax computations and client liaison — in a busy, varied workload.

You'll join a supportive, client-focused team where accuracy, deadlines and professional service are valued, travelling occasionally to meet clients as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' recent practical experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Good knowledge of corporation tax and personal tax compliance.
• Confident liaising directly with clients and explaining financial information clearly.
• Commercially aware, including an understanding of fees and the practice business model.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies.
• Producing accounts for sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing accounts for pension schemes, trusts and other entities.
• Completing corporation tax computations and returns.
• Preparing personal tax returns.
• Liaising directly with clients regarding accounts and tax queries.
• Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Supporting bookkeeping and VAT return preparation as needed.
• Producing management accounts.
• Assisting clients with tax planning and statutory matters.
• Maintaining accurate working papers and client records.
• Traveling occasionally to meet clients and contacts.
