Job Description:

Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers for roles based in Somerset.

The roles involve providing Phlebotomy and Healthcare Research services locally. Candidates must have at least 1 year’s experience in blood collection and proof of competency.

Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Somerset
Hours: 2-3 days/week, varying shifts
Duration: Ongoing

Essential skills:

  • Recent at least 12 months of phlebotomy experience
  • Proof of competency
  • Driving license is advantageous due to mobile sites

Candidates should be experienced in phlebotomy and HCA work, able to work 2-3 days weekly in a 7-day service, with long shifts (7:45 am – 6:15 pm weekdays, 8:45 am – 5:15 pm Saturdays, 10:45 am – 4:15 pm Sundays).

Start from July, with locations including Bridgwater and Chard. Sites are mobile, changing every 4-5 weeks, so driving ability is beneficial.

Pay rate up to £20/hour (umbrella), with weekend enhancements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Complete POCT cholesterol checks, record measurements, and input data
  • Draw and label blood samples, store correctly
  • Monitor participant welfare, escalate issues as needed
  • Provide advice and signposting
  • Prepare samples for courier collection

Essential requirements:

  • Recent 12+ months phlebotomy experience
  • Willingness to register with our agency
