Job Description:

Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Cornwall area.

This role involves working locally in the South-West providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services. Candidates must have at least 1 year of recent blood drawing experience and proof of competency as a phlebotomist.

This is an ongoing position as the programme moves into its next phase.

Position: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Cornwall
Hours: 2-3 days per week, shift patterns vary
Duration: Ongoing

Essential skills:

  • Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
  • Proof of competency
  • Driving license preferred due to mobile sites

Candidates must have HCA experience and be available to work at least 2-3 days per week across a 7-day service. Working hours are between 7.45am – 6.15pm on weekdays, Saturday 8.45am – 5.15pm, and Sunday 10.45am – 4.15pm.

The role is available immediately, with locations expected to include Launceston, Truro, Falmouth, Redruth, Penzance, and Newquay. Sites are mobile and rotate every 4-5 weeks, so driving and flexibility to work at different sites are beneficial.

The pay rate is up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) plus weekend enhancements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform POCT cholesterol checks, including measurements and data entry
  • Draw and label two blood samples per participant
  • Monitor participant welfare and escalate issues as needed
  • Provide signposting, advice, and guidance
  • Prepare samples for courier collection

Essential requirements:

  • Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
  • Willingness to fully register with our agency
