Job summary

Architecture Social Limited in East London is seeking a Part II Architectural Assistant to work on planning-stage design, assisting a Senior Architect and taking lead on defined pieces of work.

You will contribute design thinking, develop proposals, and produce drawings and models to communicate intent as projects progress from concept to planning submission, with a flexible working rhythm and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• RIBA Part II qualified and confident in design.
• Able to take the lead on own work.
• Experience in residential sector projects is essential.
• Experience with 3D modelling in Archicad.
• Able to communicate ideas clearly in drawings and in person.

Job description

Most Part II adverts ask you to sit quietly behind a project lead. This one does not. This is a Part II Architectural Assistant role on the planning side, assisting a Senior Architect, where you are expected to be confident in design and able to take the lead on work.

You will join a design-led East London studio of around 30 people, working across residential, workplace and education. The practice runs projects from concept through to completion and is known for imaginative, sustainable schemes. This is a studio where you can shape work early, not just draw up someone else's decisions.

The Practice

• The studio is a RIBA chartered, design-led and mid-sized practice.
• The practice works across residential, workplace and education projects.
• The work is imaginative and sustainable, with Passivhaus design among the in-house services.

The Work

• You will work on the planning side, assisting a Senior Architect through the design process.
• You will develop design proposals and contribute your own design thinking.
• You will help move projects from early concept towards planning submission.

What You Need
