Job description

Project London is hiring an experienced Part 1 or Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

We are an award-winning studio that brings architecture, interior design, procurement and project management together under one roof. We design and deliver high‑end residential homes from first concept through to the final detail, working across prime central London and the Home Counties, with a growing studio in Dubai. Alongside us sits Cor Domi, our bespoke kitchen and joinery business, so our designers work hand in hand with a dedicated maker on the pieces that give a home its character.

What sets us apart is how we run a project. We work on an open‑book basis, stay independent from the builder and tender competitively, so our clients always know what they are paying for and why. Our work on Portobello Road has been shortlisted for a BIID Interior Design Award in the Greater London residential category, Lion House on Bradbourne Street was named Best Architecture Single Residence at the UK International Property Awards, and Abbey Road is a finalist in the 2026 SBID International Design Awards. We have a strong pipeline ahead and are looking for talented people to grow with us.

The role

This is a hands‑on role for an experienced Part 1 or recently qualified Part 2 architectural assistant who wants to build strong experience across high‑end residential projects. You will work closely with our architectural, interiors and wider project teams, supporting projects from early concept and planning through technical design and delivery. You will report to a senior member of the team and will be given the opportunity to take increasing ownership as your experience develops, while having support around you when you need it.

What you will do
Design and delivery:
  • prepare client presentation documents, architectural design packages and planning information
  • develop architectural plans, elevations, sections and detailed technical drawings across different project stages
  • support projects from concept and planning through technical design and construction
  • prepare detailed schedules of materials, finishes and architectural elements
  • develop design concepts that respond to the client brief, existing building and wider project requirements
  • coordinate architectural information with our interior design, project management and technical teams
  • help keep projects organised, accurate and progressing in line with agreed programmes
Technical and planning:
  • produce clear and accurate drawing packages using Vectorworks
  • apply current UK building regulations and relevant technical standards to project work
  • support the preparation and coordination of planning applications and building regulations information
  • assist with the technical development of designs, resolving details as projects progress
  • develop an understanding of the considerations involved in working with listed, heritage and period properties
  • coordinate information with consultants, contractors and other members of the professional team
Clients and communication:
  • work collaboratively with clients, consultants, suppliers and the wider Project London team
  • contribute to client presentations and design meetings
  • communicate design and technical information clearly and professionally
  • help ensure clients and project teams receive accurate, well‑presented information at each stage
Studio and standards:
  • represent Project London professionally and uphold our standards on‑site and off
  • manage and prioritise your workload across multiple projects and deadlines
  • maintain a meticulous, process‑driven approach to drawings, documentation and project information
  • contribute to studio design reviews and collaborate closely with our architecture and interiors teams
  • stay engaged with new materials, products, regulations and ideas through industry events and ongoing learning
What you will bring
  • a degree in architecture and either Part 1 qualification with a minimum of two years’ relevant industry experience, or a recently completed Part 2 qualification
  • experience within an architectural practice, ideally working on high‑end residential projects
  • strong creative, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work across several projects at once
  • a good, up‑to‑date working knowledge of current UK building regulations
  • an understanding of the planning process and an interest in working with listed, heritage and period properties
  • fluent written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
  • a process‑driven approach with a genuine eye for detail
Software
  • Vectorworks (2D)
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Microsoft Office
  • any experience with SketchUp or visualisation software is a welcome bonus rather than a requirement
Why join us
  • a competitive salary, reflecting your experience
  • hybrid working, with three days in our Parsons Green studio and two from home
  • 25 days of holiday a year, plus our office closure over the Christmas break
  • a close, ambitious studio with genuine plans for growth and real room to progress
  • varied, high‑quality projects where your work makes a visible difference
A few details
  • this role is open to candidates already based in London with relevant experience
  • you must hold the right to live and work in the UK
  • we are looking to fill the role as soon as we can, though we understand
  • the right person may have a notice period to work
  • we will only be able to respond to shortlisted candidates
  • we are not accepting applications from recruitment agencies
