A childcare service is seeking an experienced Nanny to care for a family in Somerset. The role involves engaging with a 1-year-old, supporting their development through creative and outdoor activities. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of childcare experience, a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate, and be comfortable with a Labrador dog. This permanent position requires flexibility in days and potential additional hours.
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nanny in the beautiful Somerset countryside for a family of three.
This is a long term role and they would love someone to become a part of the family caring for their 1 year old (in December) and they hope to have another child in the near future.
You will have full responsibility of the child and carry out all child care duties along with taking them to local groups, exploring the countryside and providing stimulating activities at home too.
The role would be 3 days, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, sometimes there will need to be flexibility on the days and opportunity for additional hours when the need arises.
They are looking for a Nanny who is able to use their initiative, is fun, light hearted, creative and nurturing and who has a muck in attitude.
Someone who loves the outdoors and is used to living in the countryside is key. It would be great if you have an educational background to support the child in their learning.
You will need to be engaging and fun but also able to set and follow boundaries when necessary to ensure their child is active and happy and thrives in their environment.
They would also love to find someone who is happy to help with some light admin work such as making appointments, diary management and running any necessary errands and a little business admin.
Some help with light household duties such as laundry and ironing would be appreciated too. These duties can be carried out when the child is sleeping and also there will be times when Mum spends with the child (at lunchtime for example) so these tasks can be completed.
The family have a 4 year old Labrador so you will need to be comfortable around dogs.
For all roles with children and the vulnerable, you must have an up-to-date enhanced eDBS certificate which is registered on the update service, a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate and a minimum of two professional referees who are happy for you to share their contact details to our recruiters.
One of your references must be your current or last employer and both references must be immediately contactable.
We also recommend that you have appropriate personal insurance.
Whilst we usually undertake all registration interviews and right to work checks in person face to face, we will in certain circumstances consider video call registrations and digital right to work checks via a certified digital identity service provider (IDSP).
We support the principle of Equality and Diversity in employment wholeheartedly and oppose all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
