For 30 years, we’ve been developing and publishing video games at our studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. Rebellion is more than just games; we have a film studio, create board games, publish books, and comics like Judge Dredd through 2000AD.

This role is primarily back-end, but experience with both front-end and back-end languages, frameworks, and third-party libraries is needed. Excellent communication skills are important to help other teams resolve bugs and issues.

The position can be based in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, with flexible, collaborative work options and a relocation package including assistance, temporary accommodation, and support for a smooth transition.

While face-to-face collaboration is preferred, we are open to hybrid working arrangements based on individual needs.

Key Outcomes:

• Produce performant, well-documented code.
• Develop and deploy tools supporting our game teams.
• Respond to bugs and issues promptly with effective resolutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and deploy web applications for our engine team.
• Maintain and improve existing tools.
• Develop integrations with third-party APIs.
• Communicate with other teams.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Vue and React.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL and NoSQL.
• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud environments.
• Experience with development tools and version control (Git/Perforce preferred).
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Comfort with modifying applications in languages like PHP (desirable).
• Experience with serverless functions (AWS Lambda/Azure Functions) is a bonus.
