We have a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join a highly successful DAF Dealership based in Bamber Bridge, Preston.

This will be an office-based role which will require a high level of organisation. You will be controlling the allocation of work to Technicians to meet the department's efficiency/productivity KPI's whilst also ensuring the timely flow of job cards to administration.

Reporting to the Service Manager and liaising with the Workshop Foreman, you will be leading a team of 25 Technicians and 4 Apprentices divided over four shift patterns.

This role would suit someone who has had experience of working within a similar role within the Automotive/Truck environment and has good commercial vehicle technical knowledge and IT skills.

Duties include:
  • Allocating work to technicians
  • Ensuring all work has been carried out correctly, competently, and within the expected timescales
  • Communicating with Service Reception on vehicle progress to keep customers updated
  • Liaising with team members to obtain customer authority for any additional work
  • Final sign off job cards
  • Assisting Technicians with any technical issues
  • Fluid contamination analysis sample control
