Job summary

Wilson Veterinary Group in Bishop Auckland is seeking an experienced GP Vet to join our small animal team from January 2027. We welcome additional interests (surgery, medicine, ophthalmology or dentistry) but it is not essential.

Flexible hours and part‑time applications are considered, with an established OOH team so no OOH contribution is required. The role offers a busy practice with in-house diagnostics and a wide range of services, including CT, digital X-ray, laparoscopy and chemotherapy,

Qualifications

• Experienced general practitioner veterinary surgeon.
• Willing to work flexible hours and part-time positions.
• Interest in surgery, medicine, ophthalmology or dentistry welcomed but optional.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality GP veterinary care for small animals.
• Collaborate with a dedicated clinical team and specialists as needed.
• Utilise in-house equipment and support continuous training.
• Participate in a 1:6 weekend rota and cover OOH decisions when required.

We are a Small Animal Practice based in the beautiful county Durham, looking for an experienced general practitioner (GP) Vet to join our dedicated team from January 2027 onwards. Additional qualifications or interests (e.g., Surgery, Medicine, Ophthalmology or Dentistry, etc.) are welcomed but not essential.

We are open to flexible working hours and part-time applications.

We have a dedicated OOH team for our OOH services and therefore no OOH contribution will be required.

There is a 1:6 weekend rota.

Are you keen to work in a practice equipped with an array of in-house equipment and multidisciplinary services to help you care for our patients, including:

• In-house laboratory

• Urethroscopy and cystoscopy,
