Job Overview:

As an Experienced Care Assistant at Hollybank and Oak Lodge, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our elderly residents. You will use your expertise and compassionate nature to help provide a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring personal care and emotional support is delivered with kindness and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to senior staff.
  • Provide support during meals and assist with nutritional needs.
  • Engage residents in various activities to promote social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help in administering medications as prescribed and ensuring compliance with care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
  • Promote residents' independence while also providing assistance when required.
  • Contribute to a warm and lively atmosphere that enhances residents’ quality of life.

Working Conditions:

This position involves a flexible working approach, including shift work across days and weekends. You will be required to work 36 hours per week, including some weekends and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a care assistant in a residential setting is essential.
  • Qualifications: A minimum of Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification is required; Level 3 is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team as well as independently.
  • Compassionate, patient and a genuine interest in elderly care.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks and assist residents with mobility.
  • Flexibility in hours of work.
