Job Description:

Gemporia, founded in 2004, is a British live television and online jewellery retailer sourcing gemstones worldwide. Since 2017, it has become an employee-owned company, continuously expanding its successful team.

We are seeking an experienced Buyer for our Jewellery team. The role involves working closely with another Buyer and a Junior Trainee Buyer to develop product ranges, place orders, and manage supplier relationships.

This fast-paced role requires the ability to work accurately and efficiently, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic television environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage the buying process, including product development, range selection, and inventory management to optimize stock levels.
• Analyze sales data to identify key drivers of sales, profit, and margins.
• Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and attend meetings to source and develop new products.
• Coordinate with CRTPL and Merchandising teams to ensure timely order processing and delivery.
• Monitor competitors and market trends, providing insights and proposing product development opportunities.
• Create and implement strategic category plans to maximize sales and growth.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams to achieve category objectives.
• Develop expertise in product areas and the wider business.
• Handle product queries and resolve issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate data entry and develop system knowledge.

Skills & Experience:

Candidates should have proven experience in a buying environment. Jewellery experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills are essential for liaising with suppliers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will be organized, driven, detail-oriented, and possess a commercial and creative mindset with a passion for products and retail buying. Good PC skills are necessary.
