Brewer Morris, a leading UK accountancy firm, is seeking an Audit Manager for Listed Clients in London. You will manage a diverse portfolio of audit engagements, including listed entities, and lead junior staff while liaising with senior leadership.

You will provide technical audit expertise, oversee planning, execution, and reporting, and identify opportunities for value-add advisory work. The role offers clear progression within a leading international practice.

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong external audit experience gained in a UK accountancy practice.
  • Experience managing audit assignments and developing client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of UK FRS/IFRS and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering audit engagements from inception through to completion.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout the audit process.
  • Ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently, within agreed deadlines and budgets.
  • Identifying accounting and reporting matters and providing practical recommendations and solutions.
  • Liaising with technical specialists to support reporting requirements.
  • Reviewing work of junior team members and providing guidance.
  • Supporting the development and coaching of trainees and newly qualified staff.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value to clients and assisting with business development.

Audit Manager – Listed Clients
About the Team

This opportunity is with a Top 15 International Accountancy Firm that works with a diverse portfolio of listed, private, and owner-managed businesses across a broad range of sectors. The team supports organisations at various stages of growth, from ambitious entrepreneurial businesses to established international groups, offering exposure to complex audit and advisory assignments.

Clients operate across multiple industries including technology, professional services, consumer markets, manufacturing, natural resources, and other specialist sectors. The role offers excellent variety, significant client exposure, and the opportunity to work on both domestic and international engagements.

As part of a growing audit practice, you will gain experience managing a varied portfolio while working closely with senior leadership and developing your own career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of audit and assurance clients, including:

  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering audit engagements from inception through to completion.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout the audit process.
  • Ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently, within agreed deadlines and budgets.
  • Identifying accounting and reporting matters and providing practical recommendations and solutions.
  • Liaising with technical specialists where appropriate to support clients’ reporting requirements.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance throughout assignments.
  • Supporting the development and coaching of trainees and newly qualified staff.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value to clients and assisting with business development activities where appropriate.
Additional Project Exposure

Alongside your core audit responsibilities, there may be opportunities to become involved in a variety of advisory and special project work, which could include:

  • Capital markets and transaction-related assignments.
  • Financial due diligence.
  • Business reviews and investigations.
  • Specialist assurance and reporting engagements.
  • Other ad hoc advisory projects as they arise.
People Management & Practice Development

As part of the management team, you will also contribute to the wider success of the department through:

  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Assisting with recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Contributing to staff development initiatives and training programmes.
  • Supporting the firm’s growth through networking and marketing activities.
  • Helping to drive a positive and collaborative team culture.
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate is likely to possess:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Strong external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
  • Experience managing audit assignments and developing client relationships.
  • Working knowledge of UK financial reporting standards, with exposure to IFRS being advantageous.
  • Previous experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Post-qualified experience within practice, ideally gained in a mid-tier, national, or international firm.
  • Experience in auditing listed entities (FTSE/LSE/AIM) is a must.
