Job summary

Wirral Council in Wirral is seeking two experienced Social Workers to join our Review/CHC Team to deliver high‑quality assessments, support planning, reviews and safeguarding for adults. This role requires a recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England, plus experience with complex needs and a strengths‑based, person‑centred approach.

It offers flexible/hybrid working and a salary of £44,253 to £47,665 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
• Proven experience working with adults with complex needs, carers and families.
• Strong assessment and risk‑management skills using a strengths‑based approach.
• Knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983.
• Ability to work independently within a busy, supportive team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; confident in chairing meetings.
• Commitment to CPD, reflection and high‑quality practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality assessments, support planning, reviews and safeguarding work.
• Work within a Multi‑Disciplinary Team supporting case triage and joint decisions.
• Promote autonomy and positive outcomes for adults with complex needs.
• Contribute to multi‑agency safeguarding activities including MASH, MARAC and MAPPA.
• Use professional judgement to manage risk and provide person‑centred recommendations.
• Co‑ordinate and signpost services in collaboration with partners.
