Job Description:

We’re embarking on a transformation into the FinTech future of institutional banking by incorporating emerging technologies such as blockchain, machine learning, and cybersecurity into our products. Our team, serving corporate clients within JP Morgan's institutional bank, leverages these technologies to design and develop essential products that keep our business at the industry forefront.

Our users have complex, fast-paced, information-overloaded roles within an industry that is already intricate. Therefore, the tools we design must add value while minimizing complexity. We utilize creative, design-led techniques to break through industry jargon and bureaucracy, uncover insights others can't, and elevate design to not only solve problems but also steer product evolution into a powerful, extensible framework.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead a team in designing product and portal experiences within the Markets business
  • Contribute to product vision, roadmap, requirements, and project plans with Product Managers and Engineers
  • Participate in user research and usability testing to understand user needs and evaluate solutions, supported by Experience Researchers
  • Establish quality standards within the design team through vision, creative direction, and critique
  • Diagram the overall structure of omnichannel product experiences, including detailed UI design and updates to our Design System
  • Present work and articulate design strategies to leadership
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant design discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to plan, structure, and execute high-quality work independently and in teams
  • Experience collaborating with design teams, product managers, and engineers
  • Advanced skills in Interaction Design, Visual/UI Design, and Information Architecture; intermediate skills in User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping
  • Understanding of technical constraints and opportunities influencing design
  • Confidence in presenting to executives
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Advocacy for Accessibility and Inclusive Design
  • Experience leading successful digital product design with a user-centered approach
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and mobile UI standards
  • Previous work in publishing or knowledge management systems

Proven experience and characteristics:

  • Commercial leadership: Experience in complex enterprise environments, management consulting, or B2B financial services
  • Cross-discipline collaboration: Experience working across creative and technical teams with varying levels of digital maturity
  • Client-centric focus: Driving client-focused design processes with measurable outcomes
  • Design leadership: Experience in shaping roles, culture, and processes within larger design organizations
  • Team development: Proven ability to mentor and grow team members' careers
