Job description

Experienced Pre-school Manager to Cover Maternity

Role: Pre-School Manager – Maternity COVER

Hours: 32.50 hours a week (Term Time)

Days and Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.00 – 3.10, Friday 8.00 – 12.10

Salary: To be discussed (NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent experience required)

An exciting, varied, and fulfilling role within a Pre-school setting, making a real difference to the lives of the attending children and their families. As part of a team, you will deliver high-quality play and learning opportunities through a wide range of activities. You will communicate well with young children, parents, and carers and have a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and work as part of a team supporting other Pre-School staff and volunteers.
  2. Ensure the smooth running of the Pre-School by adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
  3. Manage and organise meetings including open days, events, or evenings as required.
  4. Use your knowledge, experience, and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities.
  5. Serve refreshments to children and oversee lunchtimes.
  6. Set up and pack away resources.
  7. Attend training and keep up-to-date with changes to welfare requirements, planning for children’s learning, and safeguarding procedures.
  8. Show a strong commitment to training and ongoing professional development.
  9. Perform any other duties reasonably required by the Pre-school Committee.
  10. Create and implement action plans.

ABOUT YOU:

You are passionate about providing high-quality childcare. A team player with good communication skills, able to relate to small children and adults alike.

You will need:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, and the ability to refer to the EYFS Framework when planning activities.
  • Awareness of the role of planning, observation, and keeping records when caring for nursery-aged children.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and meeting their needs.
  • Satisfactory DBS check and a minimum of two references.
