Job summary

Exeter-based role with hybrid working, delivering engineering capital projects across the South West. You will lead projects from concept through to completion, coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining strong commercial and contractual controls.

The ideal candidate has a background in engineering, utilities, infrastructure or construction with proven budget management, risk handling and stakeholder management skills, plus relevant qualifications and a full UK

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engineering, utilities, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong budget management and cost-control skills.
• Working knowledge of NEC or similar contract forms.
• Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or related discipline.
• APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent qualification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Technical background in civil, mechanical, electrical, ICA, process, environmental or construction management.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering capital projects and smaller workstreams through the full lifecycle.
• Manage project scope, budgets, forecasting and cost performance.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, milestones and delivery schedules.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
• Administer NEC or similar contracts, including early warnings and compensation events.
• Maintain strong commercial, financial and contractual controls.
• Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory and safety requirements.
• Provide clear project reporting on progress, performance and risks.
• Oversee commissioning, handover and project close-out.
• Build effective relationships with operational teams, customers and stakeholders.
