Job summary

Based from Exeter office, this leading regional developer is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team on new-build housing developments across Devon. You will support senior QS on procurement, measurements, cost reporting and value engineering.

This permanent position offers a competitive salary, structured training and clear progression in a supportive environment with a strong project pipeline in the South West.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Trainee or Assistant Quantity Surveyor in residential construction.
• New-build residential experience is preferred.
• Minimum HNC qualification in Construction, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong communication and numerical skills.
• Proficient IT skills and proactive attitude to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials.
• Carry out measurements and valuations.
• Support payment applications and subcontractor accounts.
• Assist with cost reporting and budget monitoring.
• Contribute to final account negotiations and settlements.
