Job description

We are a centrally led administrative function offering high-quality business support across the organisation.

Are you a highly organised and proactive professional looking to make a significant impact? We are seeking an exceptional Executive Support Officer working 3 days a week (22 hours) on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2026, primarily on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Flexibility is important. The role is office-based with flexible home working arrangements based on business needs.

Main Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Executive Support Officer with a 'can-do' attitude to join the team. You will work closely with our Senior Leadership/Wider Leadership Teams, providing an exceptional level of support and regularly engaging with other areas of the Council. If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge and contribute to the success of Staffordshire County Council, we want to hear from you!

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Leadership Team/Wider Leadership Team.
  • Managing schedules, meetings, and communications effectively.
  • Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Minuting of internal and external meetings face-to-face and via Microsoft Teams.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Proven experience of support at a senior level.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A 'can-do' attitude to join the team.
  • Experience in taking accurate action notes of meetings, including in-house and multi-agency meetings.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • We’re happy to talk flexible working.
