Purpose Statement
To support the internal audit function by conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. The role contributes to enhancing organizational efficiency, safeguarding assets, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough audits of production units (cutting, sewing, dyeing, washing, finishing) to ensure operational efficiency, quality compliance, and adherence to SOPs.
- Audit procurement cycles of key inputs (denim fabric, woven fabrics, trims, chemicals) and evaluate inventory records against physical stock to prevent discrepancies, pilferage, or overstocking.
- Review adherence to approved process flows, quality checkpoints, consumption norms, and compliance with buyer-specific technical standards.
- Cross-check actual material consumption against BOM (Bill of Materials) and costing sheets. Identify abnormal variances or inefficiencies in fabric/trims usage.
- Regularly inspect raw material stores, finished goods warehouses, and rejection/scrap yards to validate record accuracy, FIFO usage, and wastage control.
- Verify export/import-related documents including LCs, packing lists, invoices, and shipping documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Review capital expenditures and fixed asset registers in coordination with Finance. Physically verify key machinery and infrastructure items.
- Prepare audit reports highlighting key observations, risk areas, and actionable recommendations. Present findings to GM-Audit and follow up on implementation.
- Assist in conducting surprise checks, fraud investigations, or special audits as assigned by GM-Audit or higher management.
