Job summary

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) is seeking an experienced Executive Personal Assistant to join the Executive Leadership Team at our Headquarters in Greater Manchester. The role focuses on high-level administrative support, calendar coordination, and proactive communication across departments.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise competing demands, and a flexible, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • PA and general administration experience at a senior executive level.
  • NVQ Level 4 or above or equivalent in role experience.
  • Experience of organising meetings, agenda and minutes at an executive level.
  • Conflict resolution and dealing with difficult situations.
  • Managing filing and/or cataloguing systems.
  • Experience of undertaking desktop research.
  • Working to deadlines and under pressure in a senior executive environment.
  • Understanding GMFRS and its Directorates to support all Executive Leadership Team members.
  • Understanding in general terms of the role of elected Mayors and combined authorities.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the role of GMFRS and how it links with the GM Elected Mayor, GMCA and the Greater Manchester Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive support to the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Arrange meetings, organise agendas and minutes for senior meetings.
  • Manage calendars and prioritise competing workload across teams.
  • Liaise with a range of individuals and departments at all levels.

Job: Executive Personal Assistant - Executive Leadership Team, GMFRS

Salary: £35,570 to £39,481 per annum

Hours: Full time (36.25 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Swinton (GMFRS Headquarters is currently located in Swinton. As part of the organisation's future accommodation plans, the headquarters is expected to relocate to Cassidy Close in Manchester City Centre. Candidates should be aware that the normal place of work for this role may change accordingly)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for An experienced Executive Personal Assistant to join the team at our Headquarters. We seek a confident and driven individual with proven knowledge and experience to support the Executive Leadership Team. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own and other’s work and time. A flexible approach to work is key with an appreciation of working as part of a team. In addition, it is important that you are able to effectively liaise and communicate with a range of individuals and departments at all levels.If you have a positive and professional manner, along with the above qualities and experience, then we would love to hear from you.
