Job summary

Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking an exceptional Assistant Chief Officer for Older People and Primary Care Services. This senior role leads strategic and operational delivery across Glasgow, including Older People, Primary Care, District Nursing, and related services.

The postholder will drive transformational change, champion workforce and commissioning strategies, and engage with national bodies.

Qualifications

• Master’s level education in a relevant field.
• Extensive senior leadership experience within the NHS, local government, or a comparable public/third sector organisation.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, service transformation, and partnership working.
• Deep understanding of the legislative and policy context for health and social care in Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership and operational oversight for Older People and Primary Care services across Glasgow.
• Lead service redesign and integration; develop commissioning and workforce strategies.
• Represent the HSCP at local, regional and national levels and engage with the Scottish Government on adult services matters.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centred services meeting national standards and statutory responsibilities.
