Job summary

CHARITY PEOPLE is seeking an experienced Interim Director of People & Organisational Development to lead transformation at executive level in London. The role reports to the Chief Executive and steers people, culture, safeguarding and organisational effectiveness during a pivotal period of change.

You will partner with the Board and Executive Leadership Team to shape the future of the charity's people practices, design, and workforce capability while ensuring equity and inclusion remain central.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading people and organisational development functions in large, mission‑driven organisations.
• Experience shaping workforce strategy, succession planning and reward frameworks with strong governance.
• Hands-on experience with employee relations, trade unions and employment law in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across people, culture, safeguarding and organisational development.
• Lead workforce transformation, design organisations and ensure effective employee relations and union engagement.
• Drive equitable pay frameworks and modernise HR systems, processes and data capability.
• Work with the Board and Executive Team to deliver long‑term people strategy and transformation.
