Job summary

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is seeking a Head of Highways, Transport & Parking to lead the council’s highways, transport and parking strategies. The role involves managing contracts, budgets and capital programmes while delivering efficient services to residents and supporting Place directorate aims.

You will lead internal teams and external partners, write reports for Cabinet, and drive continuous service improvements in a busy, high-visibility remit.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership aligned with the council’s values and priorities.
• Manage internal teams, external consultants and contractors.
• Provide clear, balanced advice to elected members and senior officers.
• Ensure effective budget management of services and projects.
• Ensure statutory duties are met (e.g. Highways Act and Traffic Management Act).
• Deliver agreed service priorities and oversee the Local Transport Plan.
