Job summary

Barclays Bank Plc in Birmingham seeks an Investment Banking Financial Crime Client Risk Governance & Risk Appetite Lead to design, operate and enhance the client risk governance framework across IB businesses. You will escalate, challenge and resolve material client risk matters with evidence-based governance aligned to risk appetite and delegated authority.

You will own the Client Risk and Escalation Forum operating model, deliver executive reporting, and partner with senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in financial crime, risk, governance or related discipline.
• Experience designing and leading senior governance forums.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across first and second lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve client risk governance and escalation frameworks.
• Lead and develop a high-performing governance team with clear accountabilities.
• Oversee Financial Crime Risk Appetite governance and exceptions management.
• Produce executive-level committee reporting and risk insights.
• Drive governance transformation, control enhancement and regulatory readiness.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to influence complex risk decisions.
• Act as the principal 1LoD governance contact for senior stakeholders.
