South Derbyshire District Council is seeking an exceptional Executive Director to shape the future of the district at a pivotal moment. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead a broad portfolio and play a central role in delivering the Council Plan and driving sustainable growth.

This is a unique opportunity to guide major investment and regeneration across town centres, working with businesses, investors and key employers, and to navigate the transition to a new unitary council in 2028.

Responsibilities

• Lead a broad portfolio including Housing, Planning, Economic Growth and Development, and Cultural & Community Services.
• Deliver the Council Plan and progress the Local Plan.
• Drive housing improvement and sustainable growth across South Derbyshire.
• Develop major investment and regeneration projects with businesses, investors and key employers.
• Shape place-based services during the unitary council transition.
