Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking an exceptional Executive Director of Resources to join its Executive Management Team at a pivotal moment in its development.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead a broad portfolio including Finance, Legal, Digital & IT, HR & Organisational Development, Governance and Internal Audit, driving transformation and ensuring capacity to deliver ambitious outcomes for residents in Oldham.

Qualifications

• Track record of leading significant organisational improvement and transformation within a complex environment.
• Strategic thinking with ability to align finance, governance and digital transformation.
• Effective relationship builder across senior colleagues, elected members and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead a broad Resources portfolio: Finance, Legal, Digital & IT, HR & Organisational Development, Governance, Internal Audit, Risk & Assurance, and Procurement.
• Shape organisational strategy, strengthen financial resilience and governance, and drive performance across the council.
• Champion digital innovation and transformation to deliver better outcomes for residents.
• Collaborate with the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team to enable cross-functional capability.
