About the role
The Oxford Climate Policy Monitor offers an annually updated, open-access mapping and expert assessment of different regulatory domains’ alignment to net zero around the world. It is powered by a global network of law firms providing pro bono legal research to map and analyze climate-related rules across 30+ jurisdictions and six domains. The Executive Director will support the Hub to ensure the Climate Policy Monitor is a world-class resource for researchers, policymakers, and legal practitioners.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining a Legal Expert Network, fostering relationships, recruiting firms, organizing engagement events, supporting digital and operational infrastructure, contributing to outputs like the website and reports, and engaging key audiences for impact. The role involves identifying legal and climate policy trends, supporting strategic direction, and fundraising by nurturing relationships with funders and volunteers. This is a fixed-term, two-year contract, with consideration for part-time employment.
About you
You should possess strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to self-direct within a small team while coordinating a broad network of stakeholders. Deep knowledge of the legal landscape and climate policy across jurisdictions is essential, along with a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice. Excellent interpersonal, communication, strategic thinking, and project management skills are required, along with enthusiasm for global relationship-building.
