Job summary

Barnardo’s seeks an outstanding executive leader to be Executive Director, Children’s Services Operations, responsible for strategic direction, governance and delivery across the charity’s Children’s Services operations.

You will lead seven Directors and ~4,500 colleagues, overseeing a ~£200 million portfolio, ensuring safe, high-quality and impactful services for children, young people and families. Flexible/hybrid location with UK travel.

Qualifications

• Experience leading at scale in complex children’s and family services; track record of transformation and operational leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead seven Directors of Children’s Services and ~4,500 colleagues.
• Oversee a portfolio of around £200 million and ensure safe, high-quality services.
• Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Trustees and drive modernization across Children’s Services.
• Represent Barnardo’s externally to government, commissioners and partners.
