Qualifications

Job description
Overview

At Derian House, we help children and young people with life-limiting conditions make the most of every precious moment. We also stand alongside their families, offering comfort, support, and hope.

Role

We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant/PA who will assist the Chief Nurse and other Directors to lead the organisation effectively by providing high quality, confidential, effective administrative support.

Responsibilities
  • Collation and production of Committee and Board level documentation, agenda setting and minute taking
  • First point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including funders, regulators, commissioners and our Derian families
  • Diary, email and scheduling management
  • Support senior clinical and family services teams with administration activities
  • Support GP activity including clinics
Requirements / Qualifications

You will need to have recent experience as an administrator, PA or EA, where you have worked with and supported senior leaders, and where you have worked with the public. It’s important that you can remain calm under pressure, are adaptable and flexible to manage workload, prioritise to ensure deadlines and commitments are achieved. You will have exceptional administration skills and be efficient at using digital/IT systems, including Microsoft applications and virtual platforms (Teams/Zoom etc) and have the ability to learn new systems and ways of working. It’s important you have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Details

Hours: 30 hours per week Monday to Friday with some flexibility to meet service need.

Location: Derian House Children’s Hospice, Chancery Road, Chorley, PR7 1DH.

Selection and Assessment process: This will be a 2 stage process; initial preliminary 20 minute discussions, held virtually (MS Teams) and then onsite face to face assessment/interview. We anticipate the processes will take place from late October.
