The organisation: John Lyons Foundation's history dates from 1572, when John Lyon, a farmland owner from north-west London, was granted a Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I to develop a school for boys, Harrow School, and to provide a charitable endowment which over time has become John Lyons Foundation. Today, our founders' original educational and charitable intents have an esteemed reputation with a global reach. The Foundation oversees Harrow School, John Lyon School, a family of international schools, and three other subsidiaries that generate income for its charitable purposes. The Foundation's office is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London.

The role: You will join at an exciting time, as the Foundation establishes a new office function to support the growth of the Harrow International Schools Limited (HISL) family and the increasing scope of the John Lyons Foundation (JLF) to identify and develop new business opportunities. This is a new position, where you will have the chance to shape and influence the role's parameters. You will support the day-to-day work of the HISL Chairman and the Chief Financial and Commercial Officer (CFCO). Duties include researching and drafting board papers, minuting meetings (up to and including Board level), and managing key documentation created by the HISL Senior Executive team and for the CFCO. For more details, please review the attached job description on the School vacancies page.

The skills: You should have extensive experience working with C-suite executives in an executive assistant or similar role. You will be adept at researching and drafting insightful, actionable board papers. As a pragmatic individual, you will enjoy designing administrative systems, procedures, and workflows to enhance document management. Your strong organizational skills will enable you to coordinate meetings for senior executives and ensure the timely completion of projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a tactful and approachable manner, will reflect the John Lyons Foundation's values and help you build strong professional relationships across the organization. This role is ideal for a self-starter with exceptional administrative and organizational skills who takes ownership of projects.

The Benefits include:

  • Up to two days per week working from home, depending on business needs
  • Free on-site lunch
  • Automatic enrollment in the Schools pension scheme
