Job description

Berkeley Research Group (BRG), headquartered in Emeryville, CA, provides independent expert testimony, advisory services and data analytics to major law firms, Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and regulatory bodies worldwide. BRG experts provide sophisticated economic, financial, and analytical advice across various disciplines, including antitrust and competition policy, complex damages, finance, healthcare, intellectual property, valuation, and workforce issues. In addition, the firm assists clients in major industry sectors with compliance, business process improvement and strategy consulting.

This role will support two Managing Directors within BRG’s London office. You will work on both professional and personal diary management and be key in helping them stay on track and organised across a range of different roles and projects.

This is a full-time role can be offered as a hybrid position from our Blackfriars office.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
  • Manage and maintain MD’s diary, appointments and travel arrangements
  • Act as the point of contact between the MDs/Ds and internal/external clients as required
  • Prepare and edit proposals, communications, presentations and other documents
  • Co-ordinate internal and client events
  • Assist with Business Development activities
  • Arrange, co-ordinate and record meetings
  • Manage incoming calls and emails
  • Receive and interact with incoming visitors
  • File and retrieve documents and reference materials
  • Maintain project and client databases
  • Enter MD billable time
  • Process MD expenses
  • Arrange travel & visas where required
  • Interact with clients
Project Administration:
  • Use and develop internal support systems and channels of communication effectively, and foster strong relations with clients and stakeholders
  • Coordinate Client Engagement set-up, invoicing and billing processes
  • Co-ordinate Independent Contractors set-up, invoicing and payment processes
  • Assist in the administration of project documents, including invoicing, budgets, plans and billing
  • Update project documentation and follow up project tasks when required
Other Duties:
  • Work co-operatively with colleagues in the Admin team, providing support and cover as required
  • Other duties as required from time to time

  • Confident, articulate individual who is comfortable and practical supporting and communicating with senior stakeholders both within the firm and externally (i.e. with senior clients)

  • Experience gained in industries where time management and punctuality are critical is beneficial but not essential, i.e. Law, Consulting, Financial Services, etc.
  • Proactive and resilient, the individual will be comfortable coaching senior individuals, maintaining the pressure required to ‘get things done’, organising senior individuals, and challenging briefs/requirements as necessary.
