Job description

The UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) is at the heart of UCL’s Grand Challenge of Global Health. The Institute’s vision is for a world where international policy on global health is informed by world-class research. IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world’s major global health challenges through scholarly outputs, education, public engagement, translational research, and ultimately by influencing public policy and professional practice.

The Lancet Countdown: tracking progress on health and climate change, is an independent, international research collaboration, that works to track the evolving links between health and climate change globally, regionally and nationally, in partnership with The Lancet and the World Health Organization. Its aim is to inform a robust response to climate change that protects and promotes human health.

We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our team.

About the role

The postholder will join the Lancet Countdown Global Secretariat in central London where they will be responsible for providing high level executive support to Dr. Marina Romanello, Executive Director of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change.

The postholder will be responsible for diary and office management, balancing competing priorities, handling complex situations and understanding the need for flexibility that is required for a busy schedule. The postholder will need to support some discrete finance activities related to Dr. Romanello’s area of work.

This is a part-time role (i.e. 0.4 FTE, 14.6 hours per week) and it is available until 30 April 2029 in the first instance. Due to the fast-paced nature of the team and the need for regular executive support, our preference is for the contracted hours to be worked across the week rather than concentrated into a small number of full days. We anticipate this may be delivered through a daily working pattern of approximately 2-3 hours per day, although alternative arrangements may be discussed with the successful candidate.

A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.

Salary range: £36,433 - £41,833 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience, pro-rata for part-time staff.

If you have any queries about the role, please contact Camille Voirin at c.voirin@ucl.ac.uk .
