Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and highly capable Executive Assistant (EA)to support the Managing Director of a respected professional services consultancy in Birmingham. This is far more than a traditional EA role; you will act as a true business partner to the MD, providing critical support, insight, and coordination at the heart of the organisation.

The EA role: As the MD’s right hand, you’ll play a key part in enabling him to lead effectively and stay focused on strategic priorities. This ambassadorial role will see you working across all areas of the business, liaising with clients, Board members, and senior colleagues, and keeping projects and commitments on track.

The EA responsibilities will include:

  • Complex diary and inbox management, prioritising meetings and ensuring the MD’s time is used efficiently
  • Coordinating and tracking multiple projects and initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met and actions followed up
  • Preparing polished Board packs, reports, and PowerPoint presentations to support key meetings and decisions
  • Acting as the MD’s representative—liaising confidently with clients, partners, and internal teams
  • Scheduling meetings, managing logistics, and anticipating needs ahead of time
  • Providing a sounding board and trusted counsel to the MD, while handling sensitive matters with absolute discretion

What we’re looking for in the EA:

  • Degree educated (or equivalent experience) with a strong academic or professional background
  • Highly organised with outstanding attention to detail and time management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to draft high-quality documents and emails
  • Professional, discreet, and trustworthy—you’ll be privy to confidential information and must inspire confidence
  • Personable and approachable, with a good sense of humour and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Confident using MS Office

What’s on offer:

The successful EA will join a well-regarded consultancy that values it's people and offers:

  • Hybrid working (typically 2-3 days a week in the Birmingham office)
  • A strong benefits package
  • The chance to shape a key leadership support role and make a visible impact

If you’re looking for an EA position where you can truly partner with a Managing Director and be involved in the heartbeat of the business, we’d love to hear from you.
