About the role

Anexciting new role has been created in the Executive Office and Governance team working closely with the Principal Private Secretary. The Executive and Committee Administration Officer will undertake governance functions as well as provide administrative support to the most senior colleagues in the organisation, including the Ombudsman and CEO.

In this role you will support the processes by which PHSO achieves compliance with legislative, regulatory, policy, process, procedures and governance guidance requirements. You will also support the administration of internal control systems, the corporate calendar of business, the Governance Framework and other records required for efficient governance.

You will be expected to assist governance and executive office colleagues in supporting the Ombudsman, Committee Chairs, Chief Executive, Board Members, Executive Team and auditors including provision of secretariat services, including forward plans, agendas and minutes where required, as well as supporting the day to day running of the Executive Office of the Ombudsman and CEO.

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience of providing administrative support to senior leaders, including diary management and experience of organising and minuting meetings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritise a broad range of tasks effectively, as well as having excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
