Job description

Empowering Learning requires a 1-1 Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary school with a 1-1 student with SEMH needs.

Role Details:

  • Location: Redcar and Cleveland area
  • Hours: 5 days a week, 8:15 AM - 15:30 PM
  • Start Date: ASAP with potential for the new academic year as well


Responsibilities:

  • Support the child in the classroom.
  • Assist the lead teacher with the curriculum and activities.
  • Support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the child.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with personal care if required.
  • Experience of behaviours that challenge
  • Support with SEN needs
  • Communicate with parents and provide updates on the child's progress.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create a positive learning atmosphere.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous experience of supporting young children with SEN needs.
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
  • Basic understanding of child development principles.
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
