Science Teacher – Vibrant PRU – Wandsworth

Are you a dynamic and passionate Science Teacher looking for a new challenge? A vibrant Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wandsworth is seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our team. As a Science Teacher in our PRU, you’ll be teaching a diverse group of students who have been referred for a variety of reasons. Many of our learners face personal challenges, and your role will be to engage them with exciting, hands-on science lessons that ignite curiosity and build confidence. You’ll help them see the relevance of science in their lives, encouraging exploration and critical thinking in ways that resonate with their experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Teach science to KS3 and KS4 students, making it relevant, engaging, and accessible
  • Develop and deliver creative, practical science lessons that encourage curiosity and hands-on learning
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, providing both academic and emotional support
  • Work closely with support staff to create individualized learning plans for students
  • Help students prepare for exams and work towards personal and academic milestones
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels respected and valued
What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a passion for teaching science
  • Experience working with students who have behavioral and emotional difficulties (or a strong desire to work in this area)
  • A creative, flexible approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to engage students who may have faced challenges in mainstream education
  • A commitment to supporting students’ well-being and providing a holistic educational experience
  • Enhanced DBS check required
