Are you an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new challenge? A well-respected primary school in Southwark is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the classroom, helping students achieve their full potential and providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You’ll lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher, assist in delivering targeted interventions, and help create a positive and engaging learning environment for all students.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons
  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions to help students reach their academic goals
  • Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom where every student feels valued
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them develop confidence and independence
  • Help assess students' progress and contribute to individual learning plans
What We’re Looking For:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience with the ability to lead classes
  • Experience working in a primary school setting
  • A passionate, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students’ learning
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Commitment to inclusive education and providing tailored support to students with diverse needs
  • Enhanced DBS check required
