Job description

Would you like a change of scenery?
Come and join our friendly mixed practice in a beautiful coastal area of Co Antrim. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced vet with an enthusiasm for farm work to join our independent practice. The position would suit a mixed or large animal only vet, with a minimum of 1or 2 years experience in a mixed or large animal practice. We would like someone to work as part of our team of 9 vets to grow and develop our large animal business. Teamwork is a strong priority in our practice which has a good range of ages, interests and abilities. You would be based in our Gleno surgery, where we have in house facilities for cattle and sheep. Our equipment includes Easi- scan, Ovacyte, IDEXX lab stations and we have Vet Impress. The area has a good mix of dairy, beef and sheep.
A good work life balance is important to us, so we have a flexible approach to working hours and are open to suggestions. We are ideally based as we are in a rural area with lots of leisure activities available and we are close to Belfast and 2 airports and ferry ports.
The out of hours rota is 1 in 6. We offer a break the afternoon before your night on call and a late start the morning after. There is a long weekend off after your weekend on call.
We offer a competitive salary, AVSPNI and VDS membership and healthcare benefits. Accommodation and a vehicle or allowance is provided. We encourage and fund CPD, with time off work to attend courses.
To apply please email your CV to Rosalind Woodside at Gleno Veterinary Centre to rosalind12gleno@gmail.com or ring 07855 960771 if you would like an initial chat.
