Job description

Our client is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic Farm Veterinary Surgeon, confident with out-of-hours and obstetrical work. The successful candidate will be joining an ambulatory farm animal practice with a varied caseload, including proactive commercial consultancy work and individual case workups.

The Role:

  • The role requires someone who enjoys a varied caseload, working as part of a team, and engaging with clients.
  • The confidence, experience, and skills to operate sole charge for out-of-hours are essential.
  • The role includes normal dairy, beef, sheep, and smallholder work, including camelids.
  • Health planning, consultancy, fertility, individual medicines and surgical cases, plus obstetrical and other emergencies, are also part of the job.

Hours:

  • Working hours are 08:00-17:00, 4.5 days per week with weeknight and weekend out-of-hours rota shared equally – 1:4.
  • Time in lieu is given for weekends worked.
  • Part-time and flexible working options are considered.

The Area:

Located in a vibrant town in West Sussex, nestled between the North and South Downs, and close to the Surrey Hills AONB. It offers easy access to London and Brighton via the main railway line and is very close to Gatwick airport and southern ferry ports.
