We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavation Team Lead to work on LV projects s in the North West. The role of the team will include digging track, joint bays, and faults ensuring precision and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate excavators and other plant to perform tasks such as trenching, digging and backfilling
- Read and interpret drawings, safe dig prints, site layouts, and project specifications
- Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure functionality and report any maintenance needs
- Work closely with other teams and back office to ensure site safety and project efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
- Work to a defined schedule of jobs per day
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including wearing PPE and following procedures
- Keep accurate records of machine hours, maintenance, and site activity if required
Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience working on excavation teams on Utility Projects.
- Valid streetworks and excavator qualification
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures
- Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions and variable terrain
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Certification in NRSWRA
- Experience in utilities, drainage, pipeline, or roadwork excavation
Preferred Qualifications
- Category C 7.5T licence
- EUSR SHEA Power
- First Aid
- Avoiding Danger From Underground Services (HSG47)
