Job Description

ROLE PROFILE

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavation Team Lead to work on LV projects s in the North West. The role of the team will include digging track, joint bays, and faults ensuring precision and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Operate excavators and other plant to perform tasks such as trenching, digging and backfilling
  • Read and interpret drawings, safe dig prints, site layouts, and project specifications
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure functionality and report any maintenance needs
  • Work closely with other teams and back office to ensure site safety and project efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
  • Work to a defined schedule of jobs per day
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including wearing PPE and following procedures
  • Keep accurate records of machine hours, maintenance, and site activity if required

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience working on excavation teams on Utility Projects.
  • Valid streetworks and excavator qualification
  • Knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions and variable terrain
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Team-oriented and able to communicate effectively with site supervisors and crew
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification in NRSWRA
  • Experience in utilities, drainage, pipeline, or roadwork excavation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Category C licence
  • EUSR SHEA Power
  • First Aid
  • Avoiding Danger From Underground Services (HSG47)
