Qualifications

• Candidates must hold an Excavator Licence and NRSWA certification.
• Experience in underground electric infrastructure is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards.
• Operate excavation equipment and maintain high work standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and the public.

OCU Group is seeking dedicated and highly skilled excavator operatives (teams) to join our expanding workforce across Yorkshire and Humber.

This position is open to multiple candidates, with the aim of expanding our current teams.

The ideal candidates will be responsible for various tasks on our long-term contract with Northern PowerGrid, ensuring all duties are performed safely and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, and Environment standards.
• Adhere to company policies at all times.
• Report all site-related incidents promptly.
• Maintain high standards in excavation work.
• Operate on different work streams as required.
• Produce high-quality results, reports, and provide feedback.
• Build and maintain good relationships with customers and the public, communicate effectively, and resolve issues proactively.
• Be flexible with weekend and out-of-hours work.

Skills and Experience:

• NRSWA – Full Course
• Abrasive Wheels certification
• Excavator Licence (10T and above, including below ground)
• Dumper operation (desirable)
• Winch operation (desirable)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Self-motivated and organized
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Professional and positive attitude
• Previous experience working on underground electric infrastructure
